Men's Shed (Charity No: 107307)
The Shed has been picked to benefit from Tesco Ballymena's second-hand book stall sales during the month of April - please help us to raise funds by donating your old books (box in hallway of Shed).
Portglenone Community Shed is open:
Mondays: Line Dancing: 9.15-10.15am Beginners; 10.30-12noon Improvers (£2/session)
Tuesdays: Upholstery: 10am-12.30pm (£8/session; payable monthly in advance)
Tuesday afternoons (1.30-4pm) for 4 weeks from 3rd May: Beginners' Watercolour Painting (£5/session)
Wednesday: Yoga for Relaxation: 8-9pm (£30/4 weeks)
Thursdays: Crafts: 10am-12 noon: (£5/session; payable monthly in advance)
Thursdays : GITS (Guys in the Shed): 1pm-3pm Cuppa & a chat/activity
Payment for activities goes towards developing the Shed and trying out new ideas/activities.
Dementia Awareness 14th April: 1-3.30pm (with Groundwork NI)
Chronic Pain Awareness 12th May: 1-3.30pm (with Groundwork NI)
A cup of tea/coffee and a chat is always available in The Shed when it's open.
The Shed is affiliated to the UK and Irish Men’s Shed Associations which "work towards a future where all local people have the opportunity to maintain and improve their well-being on their own terms and within their own communities (IMSA). "They're community spaces" for any member of Portglenone and surrounding area to "connect, converse and create. They help reduce loneliness and isolation, but most importantly, they’re fun" (UKMSA).
