Portglenone

Getting Here

Portglenone sits beside the River Bann, ten miles from Ballymena and twelve miles from Magherafelt. Driving from Belfast to the North Coast via Portglenone, and along the Bann Valley, adds only fifteen minutes and some beautiful scenery to your journey. To experience one of the most stunning inland views anywhere in Northern Ireland travel along the Carmagrim Road (turn right off the A42, Ballynafie Road, a mile outside the village). On the right day you will get a unique view of: the River Bann; the ‘Big’ and the ‘Wee’ loughs; County Derry/Londonderry, from the river’s edge to the top of the Sperrins; and the grey-blue outline of the Mountains of Mourne.
